My Boy

Yessirreee he's here!!!

What a wonderful experience! The joy I'm feeling is indescribable right now and I have an elated feeling that I've kept pent up for months now. The wifey is doing well and is recovering from her c-section. The girls are excited to finally see their little brother for the first time.......but they don't quite understand that he's just going to be a pooping, crying, sleeping fool for the first 6 months.

First off, the details......

Born at 8:22PMCentral
Weighed 6 lbs 5 oz
18.5 inches long

He's in the ICU while they monitor his breathing, but he's doing great and won't be in ICU for very long......


OK, so then the question that probably has been asked a few times. The name. Wifey and I each submitted our lists to each other of the first/middle names we liked the most.

Her list:
Benjamin Edward
Ethan Edward
Jack Edward
Jake Edward
Jeffrey Jr.


My list:
Hoya Pancake
Scotty McMook
Carmine Vegas (carmen would be too feminine for a dude)
Jack Jaxon (and we could call him Jacks)
Obama Rodham
Sayeed Jin
Jake Edward
Jeffrey Jr.


I find it funny that we were polar opposites on our first choices, but that we did have some common ones. She shot down my first 5 choices almost instantly......and I shot down her first 2 pretty quick also.

So it came down to the names Jack Edward, Jake Edward, and Jeffrey Jr. We mulled it over and mulled it over and mulled it over some more. We both liked the name Jake more than Jack so Jack came off the list. So it was down to Jake Edward and Jeffrey Jr.

In talking about a Junior, I thought it would be sorta pretentious. Yet this is my one boy, and probably my only chance to pass on my name. So why wouldn't I use a Jr? We talked alot about what we would actually call him. And quite honestly, I find alotta irony in all of it.

Jake sounds like a good strong name. I like that in a name. It also flowed right if you know what I mean.


In the end, we decided on Jeffrey Jr. It just felt right......he's my boy, I want him to have my name.......


So, bottom line is this, we're gonna call him JJ.

And isn't it the least bit appropriate for me to say..........

So here is my formal announcement. Meet my son, Jeffrey Jr........ or JJ.

And to JJ, all I have to say is this. I gottalotta shit to show you and teach you bub and hopefully you'll do the same for me. And I'm gonna enjoy every fucking last minute of it.

Oh, and JJ, my little freak......don't overplay AJsooooted in early position...... it's just begging for trouble. There's lesson #1.........
